1995 INTERNET
THINK & DRINK

by

Jerry Cardenas

Well, if you put off going to the first annual Internet Think & Drink, you missed out. It was a great success: lots of cool people (not a bunch of propeller-heads as one might usually associate with computers and the Internet), LOTS of good beer (I strongly recommend the Big Dog Brown Ale), and a good time for everyone. The idea for the Think and Drink was originally conceived by Bill Broussard of Locke Purnell Rain Harrell, Attorneys and Counselors. Other sponsors of the event included: Silicon Valley Bank, the Austin Business Journal, Virtual Studio, Austin Web Publishing, Inc., and the Coppertank Brew Pub (who graciously hosted the event).

Power Computing Corporation brought out a Power 100 loaded with software for Internet access and allowed T&D attendees to surf the net on the smoking machine. Internet access was provided by non other than Jeff Evans of Versa Com.

The master plan behind the Think & Drink was to get as many of the finest Internet minds in Austin together to...to...have a nice, relaxing evening... talking, mingling, and drinking with people in similar or related fields associated with cyberspace. From ISPs (Internet Service Providers) to Internet Consultation & Design firms (like Austin Web Publishing, Inc.), they were there.

Stay tuned to this location for information regarding the next Think & Drink. Hope to see you there.
