The Stevie Ray Vaughan Experience
I've read most of your comments and experiences. I am overwhelmed by God's grace that he/she would send such a spirit to be amongst us and bring such love. Never heard of the guy until approximately 8 months ago. Walking through a department store and the 2000 release of greatest hits was sitting on the shelf with the picture of that face and eyes. First response...what the? I know this guy! I'm not only fond of the blues but sing it professionally so I read the bio, interesting, but hey it was $24.00! So I passed on by. For the next 3 weeks his name was everywhere and his face kept finding me. So I broke down, layed out the $24, came home and put on track 11. Normal people would start with song 1 right? Track 11 - "Life Without You". I broke down and cried. Then proceeded to learn everything I could about him. Read on it gets strange from here. I'm a Spiritualist by experience. There is absolutely no doubt in my body/mind/soul that we are watched over and guided. And that if we can remove the fear and barriers from our minds, "they" can come through. So - I'm at a Channeller (someone who works with your spirit guides) She says, "Who is this man that walks beside you? He has been with you in many lives and is a mentor for your music." She described him as passing from this life at middle age. That he'd had a rough life battling drugs, booze, heartache. And that he died because it was time. He had had enough, he was tired. But while he was here he had touched thousands with his love. And did he play some sort of stringed instrument? Stevie Ray is a part of me - just as he is of you. His love cannot die, but continues to grow through your hearts. I feel he is humbled by the knowledge that his compassion and love of people has carried on and is "understood" in his music. This is the first time I have ever felt compelled to mention this to anyone, never mind in a chat room. So from the very reaches of my soul, thank you to everyone for remembering Stevie Ray and giving energy to his message of love by experiencing his music. Marie Forcier
