The Stevie Ray Vaughan Experience
Janet

Hi,

I didn't know of Stevie Ray Vaughn until just a few years ago when his life and music were portrayed on our Public TV Station in Wichita, Ks. When I saw him play and sing I was simply paralyzed. I couldn't believe what I was seeing and hearing. Since then I have been able to buy the SRV set and 4 other cds and two videos and the other night on our Public TV station another video from Austin City Limits was shown and I taped that, having three videos now. I can't seem to get enough of his music. I play it in the car and in the house and on TV when I can. I am the only really big fan in the house. My husband claims I am obsessed with Stevie Ray and his music...probably so, but I enjoy my obsession. Now, I am trying to learn about guitars since I am not familiar with them and I am wondering if there is a metallic hot smell that comes from the amps. Sometimes when I am listening to his music, I can smell that hot metal smell. I have told this to some people in the guitar business and they tell me guitars don't smell. I still think I smell something. This may sound crazy, but that is how I have become affected by Stevie Ray and his music. Thank you for listening to me. If anyone can tell me about that smell, I would like to know. Maybe his spirit is trying to reach me through that hot, metal.
