The Stevie Ray Vaughan Experience
Chris
August 3, 2001

Unfortunately I only saw Stevie one time at Randy Quaid's "Biggest Party In Texas" at the Houston Astrodome. I was hired by promoters of the event to work on the medical staff being a paramedic myself, so there I was standing in the pit between the stage and crowd but facing the crowd as we were not supposed to watch the show. Now I must tell you, I had heard of Stevie but I had NO idea how good this guy was. Needless to say I watched his whole show from about 20ft away and someone could have been dieing behind me and I would have never known it, seriously. Just to give you an idea of the feeling that was flowing and emanating from him, it felt like the chords were going right past my ears directly into my soul. It was as if I could relate to the physical emotions he showed as he played. Also, he only opened his eyes when he began to sing to find the mic, I know I watched. I could tell he really enjoyed what he was doing (I was jealous, but it was good to see someone doing what they loved), it was almost like he was in another place when he played (pure feelings). Well after that night I was hooked on SRV for good, he was a true natural. I'm just glad I got to see him, that memory will never fade.

Thanks Stevie and Double Trouble

An eternal fan, Chris
