The Stevie Ray Vaughan Experience
Jason Magill

I first heard Stevie Ray around five years ago at a friends place, and borrowed his video of Live at El Mocombo...I'm a big blues/rock fan, and have heard alot of great guitarists, but DAMN this guy could make a guitar howl like I've never heard before!

My girlfriend's brother is a big Jimi Hendrix fan, and voodoo chile is one of his favourites, i sez "You ever heard Stevie Ray Vaughan play that song?", he sez "Nope, who's Stevie Ray??"(ahh, the innocence of youth!) Anyway, i hooked up the stereo to the video, put in live at Mocombo, cued to Voodoo chile, and cranked the sound right up....the dude was speechless!, he said he'd never heard anything like it. Now i have a hard time listening to S.R.V coz the little bugger now borrows all the tapes i have of him! Stevie, there will never be anyone else that played with as much passion, power, and fortitude as you, may you rest in peace bud.
