The Stevie Ray Vaughan Experience

The amphitheater is Culthbert, very close to Autzen Stadium. I saw Stevie Ray Vaughan up very close, I was dancing barefoot in the mud and it was drizzling but it was warm and humid. I was wearing a skimpy little tube top and a pair of jean cutoffs. Soaked but having a great time watching SRV play the guitar backwards over and around, he jammed! I have never seen anything like this before. I left that show totally amazed.

My inspiration comes fron the song Life By the Drop because I am still sober, since 1989....August 7th this year marks 12 years NO BOOZE!!!!! I loved SRV's voice and it soothes me still to hear it, he sang with his heart and he will always be very special as a person besides a great guitarist.

I think that if I could have known in advance this was going to happen, I would have stopped the show! It would have been so eas to wait until morning to fly out. How I wish he would not have flown out at night, but instead waited until the Next day. I drive myself crazy with all the what if's, shouldve's, and if onlys....if only Stevie Ray Vaughan could be alive and play even with Jimi Hendrix....why isn't this so? It all seems so unfair and a tragedy. Why does it have to happen?

It takes strength to go on. Despite the worst of luck, or destiny gone awry.

We will miss our brothers and sisters in the blues.
