The Stevie Ray Vaughan Experience

Sadly I have to admit I'm too young (19) so that I didn't have the chance to see Stevie live, in addition I'm from Germany where he did only play in 87. I met his wonderful and great music when walking in a store in London, there they played "The Real Deal 2" and I was stunned, I just had to buy that CD. I had always been listening to Heavy Metal and things like that but now I just listen to Blues, Stevies Blues. It's simply the way how he plays it, whith such an intension and he can express any feeling with one note. I'm also playing guitar and sure, he is my idol. When I'm improvising I try to get more and more close to him.

It's very sad that blues is not liked any more, I'm the only one in my school who likes it and I don't no anyone else, no band I can play in. But Stevies music is right for every mood I'm in, it makes me happy and sad, when I'm reminded of his death like in "Tick Tock People", where he sings the line "remember...". I will.

Stevies story is inspiring and sad at the same time, he had to suffer a lot but he managed to let all those things, the booze and drugs behind him. The best example is "Riviera Paradise", I don't know any other song where you can let yourself go and drift away in the beautiful melody and chords. Another thing is the diversity of his music. His sound was great from bell-like crystal clear to a distortion way from being aggressive. Nowadays music is just resampled techno loops, no instruments, no love and no message, just his music can give me an answer to my feelings.

So, everyone who hasn't experienced Stevie's music has missed something great. Once listened you'll never forget! I hope many others get to know him so that this beautiful music can live on!Time keeps on , keepin' on! Life without you is difficult but I cherish the music you have given to us all!

I keep playin the blues for you!
