When the Wisconsin University football team was scheduled to play the hapless, undersized squad from our small Midwestern teachers' college (which shall mercifully remain nameless), everyone knew it was going to be a blowout.

And those bad-boy Badgers didn't help things any by the way they crowed about the impending game. They were predicting scores like 70-0 or more. They wouldn't break a sweat, they said, and they might even start their scrub team.

So when the Wisconsin team arrived in town, they were greeted by this headline on Page 1 of the campus newspaper:

"Invasion of the Snotty Badgers".
