Older crowd. Best floor in central TX. Medium smoke. Like bands vary. At least try this hall once, just to say you've been there.

If you're mainly interested in dancing (as opposed to drinking, meeting singles, hanging out), this is the best there is in Austin. Big dance floor, too big to get very smokey, no drunk dancers.

I have taken lessons from Learn to Dance Austin for several years. The instruction is excellent. The instructor, Ricardo Moncada, keeps things moving, but he also throws in some humor to keep things from getting too serious. Classes meet once per week for 5 weeks. Regular classes include 2-Step, Jitterbug/Swing, and West Coast Swing. Workshops include Waltz, Polka, Cha-Cha, Night Club Slow Dance, Double 2-Step, Salsa. There is a practice party once a week, with special dance parties several times a year.
