The Austin Symphonic Band, one of the nation's leading community bands as recognized by the John Philip Sousa Foundation, performs 10-12 concerts yearly in and around the Austin area for the benefit of Central Texas audiences. Much more information (including schedule, history, programs, and more) can be found at the URL listed above.
The ASB's next concert will be its annual "Mothers' Day in the Park" concert at the newly remodeled Zilker Hillside Theater, Sunday, May 12th, at 7:00pm. The first half of the concert will be a tribute to the late, noted American composer, Morton Gould; the second half will be devoted to "Movie Music". Admission is free; bring a blanket and a picnic basket and enjoy this annual Austin tradition.
