This second run theatre is also a very run down theatre. While it has huge auditoriums, the quality of projection and sound is rather poor. Both times I've been here, there have been projection problems, including slipping and a visiible soundtrack. Presidio should really sink some money into this, making it a better movie house, as I like its East Austin location. As it stands now, I cannot recommend it.

Toilets are on the second floor, which can be inconvenient in case a quick trip is needed (made me loose 10 minutes of Strange Days). Concession stand not always very fast. Expensive. Easy parking at covered parking. Ideally located next door to Barne's & Noble.

Very interesting theatre with odd architectures and decor, really late night showings (midnight shows can be packed), and a refreshing selection of independent and obscure films. Ticket prices are usually $5.

Big screens and comfortable seating, but lately this has been the dirtiest theater in Austin. The last two or three times I visited the Lakehills, there appeared to be about three days worth of empty (and not quite empty) popcorn boxes and soft drink cups on the floors. And the floor around my seats felt like it was coated with a half inch layer of honey.

Clean, bright, and new. Parking can be difficult during peak shopping times. Prices are on-line with other theaters (go before 6pm for the cheap rates). Refreshment stand prices are also average (soda a little expensive, but popcorn is on average). The 4 theaters upstrairs are excellent in both size and sound. The theaters down-stairs sound good, but are rather small (you feel a bit like being in a lunchbox).

Very nice screens and sound system, parking is too little and too compact. Some of the screens feature THX sound. Be sure to approach from the north along the IH-35 frontage road.

Movies 12 on 1825 is a decent theatre with a small arcade in the building. Service is average at the snack bar. Rest rooms are clean. Parking is good. One complaint is that the 2 auditoriums that have dtx sound don't always show the movies that will best benefit from it. For example, I recently saw the movie "Daylight" in a non dtx auditorium while some other non-action/adventure movie(s) were showing in the main dtx theaters.

Nice communmity feel theater. The employees and management have always been enjoyable to chat with while waiting for a movie. The price structure is standard with "cheap seats" avaiable before 6pm. The price at the conession stand are also on average (there is a small stand beyond the ticket-only point). Only one set of bathrooms (in the lobby) that makes for a long trip from the back theaters. The main 3 or 4 theaters have rocking seats. All theaters I have been in have had reasonable sound (even the small ones in the back). One problem: during showings of "major" movies, they wait to add a second line (on the left side of the consession stand) until about 10 minutes before seating begins. This effectivly "sticks it to" the folks who have been waiting in the orginal line (basically all those after the restroom entrance).

They show Asian action films on Saturday nights. Screens seem small and parking isn't the best, but if you have a student ID or a pass, its a good deal.

Very nice discount theater. Prices are $1.50 all the time. Lots of parking space, nice theaters and videogames.

Interior appears to be an old theatre split into two screening rooms due to the angle of the seats. Its still a big screen, and the $1.50 tickets are hard to beat.

They show many independent and foreign films. However, this theatre feels a bit neglected by the Presidio chain.

This theatre is the only thing to keep Westgate mall alive, it seems. Its loaded with high school kids on weekend nights, but all the screens seem nice with adequate sound. I prefer the Lakehills 4 across the street, but they rarely show the same films.
