The "D" House

Beginnings

A not-so-recent photo of precocious Diana Louise, a.k.a. "D"

I know that some of you are wondering, why the childhood photo? How do I give a black and white answer for such a colorful picture? Here goes. It's cute! Take it or leave it. For those of you who wish to leave it. See Ya!

Now that we have left the leavers behind, Bon Jour Takers! Welcome to my column. Welcome to my Playhouse. My name is Diana Louise. I am a girl, perhaps a lady, living in Austin, Texas and trying to realize my place in the big world out there. Amazingly, it seems to be realizing Me. I hope graciously that you will take with you that which I wish to share.

Diana Louise represents a lot of us. In addition to generally sharing her warm friendship, she's our resident computer neophyte, our graceful link to the more than one hundred-fifty million people in the U.S. who aren't regular Web users.

This month, Diana has two pieces for us: The first has the buzz on Austin's recent SxSW Conference. The second, is an important chance encounter on Sixth Street. Therefore, prepare to be beguiled.

Diana is also open to submissions of written work like poetry, personal impresssions and such (not to mention artistic endeavors in other media). So drop her a line if you have something you'd like to share with her and all of us at diana@awpi.com.
